Chapter 7 - February
“You need to learn to enjoy every waking moment because they pass in the blink of an eye until one sunny spring morning, you look in the mirror and unexpectedly see the reflection of an old man obscured behind a veil of regret, pain, and sorrow,” Death said.
“Still the cheerful ray of sunshine beaming with effervescent words of wisdom,” I said.
“I try not to disappoint—especially on such an auspicious occasion as this. After all, your eternal happiness is my sole reason for being.”
“Just fuck off with your virulent malevolence and nefarious schemes. We aren’t friends, so stop pretending you care and let me live without your sinister meddling,” I said.
“As much as I’d love to honor your command, unfortunately, I’m forbidden to interfere with the intrinsic laws of nature that bring order and balance to a universe fraught with chaos. Everyone and everything is connected, and every thought, word, and action consciously and subconsciously affects others. We’re on a journey together to the other side, and I’m your guide whether you like it or not,” Death said.
